SHRIMP ALERGY AND SYMPTOMS
OF SHRIMP ALERGIES
Shrimp is often recognized as the cause of IgE mediated adverse
reactions in the food alergic persons amongst the aquatic
arthropods such as shrimps, crabs, crawfish and lobsters.
As revealed by the specific study, the dominance of the
shrimp allergy could easily be estimated to around 0.6% to 2.8%
in the food allergic persons. The consumption as well as simply
accidentally inhaling the shrimp allergens could cause the
alergic reactions such as pruritus, urticaria, angioedema,

anaphylactic.

there is no specific singular test which can establish the
shrimp alergy. Also the combination of skin test and shrimp
specific serum IgE is also prophetic.
